LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 20-year-old Lincoln man was arrested Thursday after being released from the hospital following a motorcycle crash Wednesday night.

Dakota Thomas was arrested for operating a vehicle to avoid arrest and was cited and released for 1st offense reckless driving, failure to display proper number of plates and no motorcycle operator’s license.

On Wednesday just after 8 p.m., an officer tried to stop Thomas who was operating a blue Suzuki motorcycle near 52nd and O Street. However, Thomas took off eastbound on O Street, according to Lincoln Police. The officer did not go after him because of safety concerns.

A few minutes later, police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a car near 70th and A streets.
