CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The man arrested in connection with a string of arsons to flags across the Clifton and Northside neighborhoods in late July has been indicted, Hamilton County prosecutors said.

Thomas Neihaus, 52, has been charged with seven counts of aggravated arson and three counts of arson after setting fire to several pride flags and a yard sign with a Ukrainian flag, according to prosecuting attorney Connie Pillich.

“I am deeply disturbed and outraged at these arsons,” Pillich said in a news release. “These were not random acts of vandalism. They were targeted, hateful attempts to intimidate and silence members of our community.”

Prosecutors said that seven of the arsons on July 30 were to flags attached to homes , some of which were caught on security camera video.
