Last week, Coweta County Animal Services announced the euthanization deadline for 18 dogs, originally set for August 5, was moved to 5 p.m. on August 13.

Twelve dogs remain on the list as of August 11. The dogs still at risk of euthanization are Jumbo, Tim, Liberty, Han Solo, Moon Pie, Vida, Nabbit, Tiny, Carter, Mighty, Saffron, and Ding.

Thanks to generous donations from the community, adoption fees have been paid for many of the dogs on the list, making it easier for families or rescues to step in.

Residents are encouraged to help however they can – by adopting, fostering, contacting a rescue group or spreading the word. The shelter is located at 91 Selt Road in Newnan.
