PACOLET, S.C. (WSPA)— It's the first day of school for students in Spartanburg school districts. 7NEWS visited Pacolet Elementary on Monday morning.

Principal Cathy Garner said their school theme for 2025-2026 is "small town, big pride."

Principal Cathy Garner encourages the community to use the hashtag #wearePacolet today, asking parents to decorate their cars to get students excited about the first day of school.

Pacolet's Facebook page will have pictures of school activities and town history.

This year, there are several new community partnerships with the Spartanburg Academic Movement to help strengthen families, improve financial literacy for parents and mentor programs like the "Big Brother" and "Girls on the Rise" mentorship program.
