A 40-year-old woman is charged with intentional child abuse resulting in death after allegedly slamming her daughter’s head against a wall.
Authorities in New Mexico have arrested Vanessa Chavez, 40, on charges of intentional child abuse resulting in death after her toddler daughter was killed in an alleged act of violence. The incident occurred on August 2 at a home in northeast Albuquerque.
According to a police complaint, Chavez allegedly slammed her daughter’s head against a wall because her feelings were “hurt” by the girl’s fussiness.
First responders arrived at the scene to find a man performing CPR on the child. Paramedics took over but were unable to revive the girl, who was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later determined the cause of death was a “large subdural hemor
