After a weekend of nonstop softball action down at Abbotsford's Exhibition Park, one team has been crowned this year's Western Canadian U13 Softball Championship winners.

Despite some strong performances from the Abbotsford Outlaws host team, it was Manitoba's Interlake Phillies who came out on top, taking gold in an all-Manitoba final match.

Throughout the entire four-day tournament, the Phillies never once experienced the bitter taste of defeat, going 7-0 and finishing in first place after back-to-back wins against the Eastman Wildcats in the playoffs.

Once the dust had settled, it was the Phillies who took gold, followed by the Wildcats with silver, and the Calgary Kaizen with bronze.
