U.S. — According to sources, Americans no longer need dystopian sci-fi novels to serve as ominous warnings of authoritarian control or societal collapse, as they now have England for that.
"Watching the news out of England hits closer to home than George Orwell's 1984 or A Clockwork Orange ," said UCLA Professor of Sociology Dr. Dylan Murphy. "Truly riveting stuff."
What used to be far-flung fantasy is now the reality in England in most cases, say experts. England already has totalitarian control through mass surveillance and propaganda, women being treated as property under a heavy muslim demographic, diminished civil liberties, and the erasure of the English identity. Many believe the real-life drama is far more compelling and horrifying than most dystopian fiction.
