The 49ers reunited with a familiar face.
San Francisco, which has battled numerous injuries on both sides of the ball throughout training camp, will re-sign former running back Jeff Wilson Jr., ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday, citing Wilson's agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Shawn O'Dare.
Wilson initially was signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2018, and spent the first four-plus seasons of his NFL career with San Francisco before a midseason trade to the Miami Dolphins in 2022.
In 45 games (15 starts) with the 49ers, Wilson recorded 390 carries for 1,733 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground, while catching 45 passes for 387 yards and four scores through the air.
