WACO, Texas (KWTX) - From joining in flood recovery efforts, to donating supplies, to opening lemonade stands.

Texans of all ages are passionate to do something to ease the pain of Hill Country and San Saba flood victims.

For a group of central Texas men, there was a clear “sign” pointing to how they should respond. Which included some cherished relics of the past stepping up to fill a “present” need.

Sign collector Dean Smith, has been collecting historic signs for nearly forty years.

From original Dr. Pepper ads to rare gasoline signs, Smith has gathered pieces of American roadside history, each one holding value far beyond dollars.
