MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has been arrested and charged with murder after a woman he allegedly assaulted died from her injuries.

According to a Mobile Police Department news release, on July 27 at about 9:20 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 600 block of Petit Avenue in regard to an assault.

The officers found a woman, Crystal Varden, 33, had been stabbed multiple times after a verbal argument with Kenneth Reeves, 69.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment following the incident, but died from her injuries last week.

Reeves was arrested after the assault and is now charged with Varden's murder.
