OROVILLE, Calif. - California Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed Ruby Sandhu Neumann as a judge at the Superior Court of California in Butte County.

Neumann's appointment fills the vacancy left by Judge Michael P. Candela's retirement in May 2025.

The Butte County Superior Court says that Neumann has been serving as a Court Commissioner across several counties, including Tehama, Glenn, Colusa, and Plumas, since 2023.

Before that, she was an Assistant District Attorney in the Glenn County District Attorney’s Office from 2014 to 2023 and worked as an Associate at the Law Offices of Christian Schank & Associates from 2013 to 2014.

Neumann holds a Juris Doctor degree from Lincoln Law School.
