GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks teen pleaded guilty Monday, Aug. 11, to five counts of attempted murder for firing a handgun at an occupied vehicle, injuring two of its passengers.
Attempted murder, a Class A felony, has a maximum 20-year sentence.
Mason Wyatt Allery, 17, also pleaded guilty to Class C felony terrorizing and five counts of Class C felony reckless endangerment showing extreme indifference. His final guilty pleas were for Class A misdemeanor criminal mischief and Class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of a handgun by a minor.
Before Judge Theodore Sandberg accepted these guilty pleas, Assistant Grand Forks County State's Attorney Sarah Gereszek provided a factual basis for the charges, which Allery agreed was an accurate representation of what happened.
