SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Shaker Heights City Council is expected to vote Monday to confirm former longtime county official Matt Carroll to be the city’s next chief administrative officer.
Mayor David Weiss has asked council to sign off on his appointment of Carroll to the position, which is the equivalent of a city manager position, which oversees the day-to-day operations of the city. Carroll is currently Cuyahoga County’s Senior Advisor for Strategic Initiatives.
Weiss wrote in a memo to council that Carroll brings “a wealth of experience in public administration, demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong alignment with the city’s values and strategic goals.”
More than 60 people applied for the position, and the city conducted 10 in-person interviews before Weiss settled on Carro
