A mother has admitted to driving high on methamphetamine and causing the crash that killed her 4-year-old son earlier this year.
Ashlee Rose Klapperick, 36, of Mora, pleaded guilty one count of criminal vehicular homicide and two counts of criminal vehicular operation last week in Chisago County District Court.
The head-on crash happened around 6:15 p.m. March 14 in Nessel Township. Klapperick caused the collision when her Chevrolet Cruze crossed the centerline into the opposite lane and struck a Chrysler minivan.
Klapperick's 4-year-old son, Anthony, died March 20 at a hospital where he was airlifted with a "significant brain injury." Her 3-year-old son sustained a broken collarbone in the crash.
