PORTLAND, Ore. — Scandals, an iconic Portland gay bar, will close its doors Sept. 21 after 46 years on Southeast Harvey Milk Street in downtown Portland. The owner plans to open an all-ages, family-friendly queer space instead.
The new venue will be located in the Alberta neighborhood, at 827 Northeast Alberta St., according to a permit filing. On Wednesday, KGW spoke with owner David Fones who said he's hoping to open that spot — likely to be dubbed Scandals East — on October 1.
