GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The southern Oregon city of Grants Pass is able to resume enforcement of its prohibited camping ordinances now that a judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against the city earlier this year, lifting a preliminary injunction .
However, the lawsuit did produce a settlement between the city, Disability Rights Oregon and the Oregon Law Center, groups that sued the city on behalf of five homeless people with disabilities.
According to DRO, the settlement agreement stipulates that the city must provide accessible, low-barrier camping capacity for 150 people in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act throughout the next 12 months.
The city must also provide drinking water at all sanctioned camping sites. Finally, the city must award $60,000 to a local nonprofit
