PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Flooding rains are possible for drought-stricken central and eastern Oregon on Saturday.
After months of drought and an increased wildfire threat, central and eastern Oregon are preparing for the threat of flooding conditions.
A powerful late-summer low is sliding into the Pacific Northwest on Friday night into Saturday. Rain will move east through the overnight hours on Friday and will continue to put rain down across the region on Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch for the eastern half of the state from Saturday morning to Saturday evening. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding as persistent and heavy rain showers move through the area.
