PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A month's worth of rain is possible around the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area Friday night into Saturday morning.
August is typically Portland's second driest month of the year, averaging just over a half inch of rain. Above-average August monthly rainfall is possible as a powerful late-summer storm moves through the area.
This latest round of rain comes as Portland has already seen a 0.20" surplus of rain during the month of August. Portland has already seen 0.43" of rain this month as of Thursday afternoon. That's where Portland's surplus will continue to grow and the monthly rainfall jumps nearly a half inch by the end of the weekend.
