DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Duluth City Council is facing a busy evening of interviews and deliberation.
Starting at 5 p.m., councilors will be interviewing the three finalists to fill the open second district seat.
Whoever is selected will serve until January, carrying out the rest of former councilor Mike Mayou’s term.
Monday night, councilors will also be discussing a change to a city ordinance, aiming to make it easier for new daycare facilities to open up.
Councilors may take the next step toward approving an affordable housing project geared toward senior citizens with a daycare facility on the ground floor.
Additionally, they plan to accept funds to support two focus groups, detailing the impact of inflation on low-to-moderate income families.
