DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Great Minnesota Get-Together is welcoming a new Iron Range musician this year.
After 11 years of trying to get a big break at the Minnesota State Fair, a local musician is finally having his moment. The one-man band is heading to the fairgrounds with his 23 instruments, tagging along for the ride.
Steve Solkela is a Finlander who grew up on the Iron Range and started his career young in the construction industry, but he always knew he was meant to make music.
Now his biggest dream is coming true, “and now it’s really kind of happening and I never really thought my dreams would come true, but they are,” Solkela said.
He tells Northern News Now, his goofy character and the uniqueness of his one-man-band act, which features opera singing, accordion
