A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Cumberland County, police said.

New Jersey State Police troopers responded to Route 553/North Main Street near Fairton-Millville Road around 10:30 a.m. for the reported crash.

A motorist driving a passenger vehicle southbound on North Main struck a 58-year-old Millville man who had entered the roadway on foot, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, while the driver suffered minor injuries, police said.

No additional details were released, but police said the crash remains under investigation.
