WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department had a "serious violation" leading up to an incident where a firefighter was killed in the line of duty, according to the Occupational Safety and Health administration.

Robert Sharkevich, 66, was killed when a utility vehicle rolled over while fighting a brush fire on Lamentation Mountain in Berlin in 2024.

Three additional firefighters were minorly injured.

The Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department was cited $640 for "serious violations."
