A retired State Police trooper was sentenced Thursday to a month in prison for his role in the commercial driver’s license bribery scam, officials said.

Perry Mendes, 64, of Wareham, learned his fate during a hearing in US District Court in Boston, where he pleaded guilty in July to one count of conspiracy to falsify records and three counts of making false statements, officials said.

In addition to the prison time, US District Judge Indira Talwani sentenced Mendes to a year of supervised release once he leaves custody, with the first two months on home confinement, US Attorney Leah B. Foley’s office said in a statement .
