LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The KFC Yum! Center will be getting some major improvements ahead of its 15th anniversary.
The Louisville Arena Authority announced on Monday it will invest an estimated $13.6 million into upgrades for the Yum! Center this fall.
The main focus of the investment is replacing the arena's roof. Work on that began on Aug. 4 and is expected to be completed by December.
There are road closures anticipated, with officials saying more information will be available in the coming days.
This is the first time the arena's roof has been replaced since the Yum! Center opened in 2010.
Events will still happen while the roof is being replaced, with work being scheduled around the arena's calendar.
To celebrate the arena's 15th anniversary this year, officials say there are plans t
