HAMMOND — Defense lawyers for a former Gary police commander have requested and were granted a continuance in his trial for the third time, according to federal court records.
Attorneys for James Bond asked for a new trial date while they continue to review information, documents and other evidence as they prepare to take their case to trial in federal court, according to a motion filed July 18. U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Abizer Zanzi granted their request to push Bond's trial from Aug. 25 to March 2.
