Mammoth Solar landed $1.2 million in funds for its new solar farm in Northwest Indiana, which is expected to be one of the largest solar farms in the United States when completed.

Philadelphia-based Doral Renewables is building out the 1.3-gigawatt Mammoth Solar farm in Starke and Pulaski counties that will be able to power around 200,000 homes in the Midwest.

The developer secured a $1.2 million infrastructure grant from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation for the Starke County Highway Department. It was part of an incentive package to improve the roads around its new solar farm, which has been under construction for the last few years.
