BOSTON (WWLP) - Massachusetts' antisemitism commission released recommendations on improving anti-bias education in K-12 schools, and they were met with fierce support and equally fierce opposition.

These recommendations include statewide bias training and review of materials discussing Israel and Palestine, expanded access to Halal and Kosher food, and a bias reporting system.

Westfield Senator John Velis chairs the committee and sees the recommendations as a huge step forward.

"We need to get to a point where our young kids are exposed to this form of hatred, what it entails, why it's wrong, and that just hasn't been the case in Massachusetts," said Velis.
