FRAMINGHAM, Mass. —

Nearly a year into the job, the colonel of the Massachusetts State Police is answering questions about the scandals that have gripped the embattled agency.

NewsCenter 5's Ben Simmoneau sat down with Colonel Geoffrey Noble for a wide-ranging interview -- beginning with the firing of Trooper Michael Proctor , the lead investigator in the Karen Read murder case.

"Why should the public believe that this was not happening in other cases?" Simmoneau asked, referring to allegations that Proctor identified Read as the main suspect without analyzing all the evidence.
