BRAINTREE, Mass. —

A Massachusetts man is facing several charges after police say he stabbed a driver in the midst of an attempted carjacking.

The incident happened Sunday just before 8 p.m. in Braintree, near a store on Grossman Drive.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old man from Quincy, was waiting for his family when the suspect approached the open driver's side window.

According to police, the suspect, Justin Kilburn, 36, of Milford, began talking to the driver before flashing a knife and ordering him to get out of the car. Police say Kilburn told the driver, "You have insurance, get out of the car."

A struggle ensued with Kilburn, resulting in several lacerations to the driver's arm, hand and chest.
