BOSTON —

A Lyft driver is accused of raping a passenger he picked up from a Boston hotel.

On August 9, Somerville police officers responded to a hospital to speak to a woman who said she was sexually assaulted by a Lyft driver while on her way to her home in Somerville.

The driver, Luis Carlos Ramos Teixeira, 27, allegedly picked up the woman from the Lenox Hotel in Boston on Saturday.

According to court documents, the woman remembered getting into the car but then woke up with the driver performing sex acts on her.

Teixeira is charged with rape and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.
