MALDEN, Mass. —
A man was arrested Monday after leading police on a chase lasting over an hour in Malden, Massachusetts.
A Malden police detective said the man committed several lane violations before a traffic stop was initiated.
Witnesses said the man crashed into several cars on Salem St. and later took off on foot. Two teenagers say he nearly hit them as they rode their scooters down the street.
For an hour and a half, police said the man led them on a foot chase, with K9s being deployed.
According to police, they finally discovered the man in a tree on Bryant Street and took him into custody.
Nearby surveillance video shows the man climbing into the tree, which is where he spent the next hour in an attempt to hide from police.
