BANDON, Ore. - A boat capsizing near the boat basin led to a dramatic rescue on Friday afternoon, according to the Bandon Police Department.
BPD officials said that the incident occurred at approximately 1:33 p.m. and a courageous citizen saved four individuals from the water. All four occupants were wearing life jackets, which were crucial in the successful rescue, police said.
Prowler Charters assisted by retrieving the capsized boat. A dog that had been on board the boat did not survive, police said.
BPD officials said that the community extends gratitude to the brave rescuer and Prowler Charters for their quick actions.
