EUGENE, Ore. - A brush fire erupted in the Willow Creek area of West Eugene on Monday afternoon, prompting a swift response, said Eugene Springfield Fire officials.

ESF authorities said that firefighters from the Bailey Hill station arrived just before 2:30 p.m. on August 11, finding smoke and flames in the Willow Creek natural area. The fire spread over approximately three-and-a-half acres on the south side and sparked three spot fires on the north side, fueled by dry conditions and moderate winds.

Eugene Springfield Fire received assistance from the Oregon Department of Forestry and Eugene Police, who provided traffic and drone support. Fortunately, no structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
