INEZ, Ky. (WYMT) - Martin County is coming off a 9-4 season that ended in the Region Final against Beechwood, who went on to win the Class 2A state championship.

This season, the Cardinals roster will look much different than last season, as they graduated 18 seniors.

On the offensive side of the ball, Martin Co. graduated its top three receivers and three of its top four ball carriers.

Defensively, the Cardinals will replace three of its top four tacklers, who combined for 346 tackles last season.

Quarterback Devan Maynard returns for Martin Co. this season.

Last year Maynard threw for 854 yards and contributed on the defensive side of the ball as well with two fumble recoveries, 79 total tackles, five tackles for losses, eight interceptions for 274 yards and two pick sixes.
