WELLSTON, Okla. (KFOR) – The body of a woman was discovered in rural Lincoln County Sunday morning. The sheriff's office has called the discovery a “suspicious death.”

The woman, whose identity is not being released, was found off South 3310 Road.

"One of our deputies was able to locate the body, and it's in some really thick tree area on this property," said Kevin Garrett, Lincoln County Sheriff.

Garrett said his office received a tip Saturday night that led law enforcement to the area.

He said a man by the name of Ryan Archer told his neighbor that “someone shot themselves” near Archer’s home. The neighbor called the authorities.

Garrett has called Archer a “person of interest” in the case and said Archer was nowhere to be found.
