Three people are facing drug trafficking charges after RCMP say a wanted suspect was spotted in a vehicle trafficking controlled substances at a property in Ponoka on July 30.

Tofield, Beaver County, Alta. resident Aaron James Olson, 42, was wanted on warrants for two counts of assaulting a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest, flight from police, mischief and possession of a controlled substance for an incident in Lacombe on July 28.

According to the Lacombe Police Service (LPS), officers conducted a traffic stop at 12:44 a.m., on a white Dodge Ram truck on Highway 12 at 58 St.

The driver, whom LPS identified as Olson, allegedly "displayed erratic driving behaviour and signs of impairment."
