MORTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- After 27 years, Ackerman Family Farms in Morton will be closing their retail and agritourism at the end of this season.

Located just off of Route 150, the farm has been a fall destination for families in central Illinois and beyond for Pumpkins, corn maze and hayrack rides for years.

John and Eve Ackerman co-own the farm, and have loved being a part of everyone's lives for all these years.

"Our town's been so supportive and it's great to be part of the pumpkin capital, and part of that little slice of Americana," John said. "We take part in the parade every year, we take part in the Pumpkin Festival itself every year, and it's just great to be part of a community. And, gosh, it's hard to walk away from that."
