BUTLER, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an "unattended death" in the Butler community on Saturday afternoon.

In a release, the sheriff's office said it was treating the death as a homicide and that it was working in cooperation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to the sheriff's office.

"Therefore, no further details are being released at this time to protect the integrity of the case and the individual, as well as their families’ privacy," the release states.
