KINGSPORT, Tenn., (WJHL) - Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger was in Kingsport on Monday, attending a meeting with the Greater Kingsport Republican Women, where she touched on multiple national issues at the top of Tennesseeans' minds.

As tariffs with multiple countries are still under negotiation, Harshbarger said that automotive equipment and produce will face the largest price increases.

Harshbarger said President Trump's tariffs are a long-term investment.

"Consistency is what you want," she said. "That's what the markets want. You may see some short-term increases, maybe in the automotive sector, is what I'm reading in Tennessee.
