DENVER (KDVR) — If you climbed one of Colorado's 14ers during 2024, you were one of thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who also summited one of those peaks.

That's according to a new report by the Colorado Fourteeners Association, which uses trail counters to determine use of Colorado's tallest peaks. The group said that hiking use grew about 1.9% overall in 2024 compared to 2023, with an estimated 265,000 hiker use days.

The "hiker use days" metric is used to report hiking use on 14ers, as it represents one person hiking one peak on one day, but individual enthusiasts may hike multiple 14ers over the course of a given year and climb the same peak multiple times.
