WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District Board is holding a public meeting this evening to discuss and vote on a proposed rate increase for residents within the district.

In a notice for the proposed tax increase, the tax on a $630,000 residence would increase by $11.78 per year, while the tax on a business would increase by $21.42 per year. The total tax would be $117.81 for a residence, and $214.20 for a business.

The district says that if the proposed increase and budget is approved, it would receive over $3 million in property tax revenue, which equates to an increase of just over 11 percent.
