THOMPSON, CT. (WFSB) - A horse was rescued from mud and water in Thompson Monday evening.

Officials say that the rescue happened in the area of Linehouse Road.

The animal was stuck in about three feet of mud and water when crews arrived.

The Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department, Pomfret Fire Department, and technicians from Tufts University responded.

Some crews sustained bee stings. No serious injuries were reported.
