GRAND FORKS – The Grand Forks School District’s energy efficiency project is “a big success,” said its project manager.

During a Grand Forks School Board meeting on Monday, Aug. 11, the board heard a presentation from Conner Dailey, project manager with the firm CMTA, about the first six months of savings from the district’s energy efficiency project. Dailey said the district will save $380,000 a year in energy costs, lowering the total operating budget from $2.2 million to $1.5 million.

“These projects are resetting the clocks on your existing buildings and your systems,” Dailey said.

In 2022, the board approved the energy efficiency project for a total cost of $17.8 million, with hopes of lowering energy costs in the future and increasing air quality in district buildings.
