SOUTH BEND, Ind. – As students prepare to return to the classroom next week, South Bend Community School Corporation says it is focusing on improving transportation which has been a top concern among families in recent years.

According to a survey taken by families who have left the district, transportation issues were the leading reason.

Now, with new leadership in place, administrators say a top priority is on getting students to school safely and on time.

On the first day of school, 106 corporations and 16 contracted drivers will run 127 consolidated routes.
