CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — It’s a pivotal year in Charlottesville for Virginia head coach Tony Elliott. Now entering his fourth season at the helm, Elliott is still searching for his first winning campaign with the Cavaliers.
Last season, the Hoos finished 5-7, a year marked by a three-game losing streak that kept them from bowl eligibility. Since Elliott’s arrival, the program has yet to post a winning record — but optimism is building inside the locker room.
"The guys are showing up everyday," says Elliott. "They've been competitive every single day. You don't have to push them to go. They're excited to get on the grass. They've got a little bit of edge to them."
