A shooting at Seattle’s Virgil Flaim Park left one person dead and another injured Monday evening.

Police were searching for the suspect around 6:30 p.m., according to a social media post from the Seattle Police Department.

The park, at 2700 Northeast 123rd St., is in the Victory Heights neighborhood.

Police had not released any information about a suspect or a possible motive. People were asked to avoid the area.

Monday’s shooting was the latest in a recent wave of gun violence in the city. Over the weekend, two people were seriously injured in separate shootings. Three men were killed within a week in separate shootings over four days in late July.
