Seven couples said “I do” in Carnation in front of friends and thousands of concertgoers — and singer-songwriter-turned wedding officiant, Lucy Dacus.
Dacus, an indie rock star who performed Sunday at Remlinger Farms, has added brief wedding ceremonies to her shows across the U.S. as part of her “Forever is a Feeling” tour. All the couples needed were concert tickets and a marriage license, and the tour provided the rest: the venue, the officiant and, of course, music.
About halfway through her 19-song set, Dacus brought the seven couples onstage to dance to “Best Guess,” a tender song about the uncertainties of love that seems ripe for a first dance at a wedding — or, in this case, right before a wedding.
