A man was wounded in a shooting in the Lone Butte area Monday evening, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

Deputies arrested one "person of interest," sheriff's office spokesperson Denise Womack-Avila said, adding, "there is no perceived danger to residents in the area."

The victim was taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for treatment, she said.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a road called Sandia off Shenandoah Trail on Monday evening in response to reports of a man with a gun and shots fired at the location, she said.

Womack-Avila said no officers were injured during the incident.

The agency will release more details when they become available, she said.
