United World College USA is revamping its mental health services, staff training and suicide prevention policies after an investigation into a teen’s suicide in 2023 found school staff failed to take steps to prevent the death.
“We know what happened two years ago is deeply tragic and highly emotional,” the Montezuma boarding school’s board of trustees said in a statement on changes made in response to findings about the death of 17-year-old Koru Moss. “While we cannot undo the pain and grief experienced by the Mosses and our community, we are committed, as always, to improving as an institution.”
