Police destroy ‘suspicious device’ found at Woodburn outlet mall

WOODBURN Ore. (KPTV) - Authorities destroyed what they call a “suspicious device” that was found in a loading dock area at the Woodburn Premium Outlet mall on Monday night.

According to the Woodburn Police Department, officers were called to the scene where the device was reported - at a loading deck that services several stores at the mall.

The mall was closing for the night at the time of the discovery, and police evacuated nearby stores out of precaution.

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad was called in, and the device was ultimately safely destroyed.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
